Board of Trustees
Berkley Normal Middle School runs an election system where every 18 months half of the Board’s positions are up for election. As on all Boards of Trustees, each elected member sits for a three year term. Currently we have six Board of Trustee Members.

In November there will be elections held to elect three positions. The other half of the Board will continue with their current appointments. Those existing members are Stephen Ng, Kate Rys, and Tracey Gunn.
Of the three remaining Board of Trustee Members, two have indicated that they will not re-stand as their children have left Berkley.
This presents a fantastic opportunity for our School Community. We actively encourage members of our School Community to consider standing for election. Not only are current parents eligible but people with an interest in the wider community can stand for election. Perhaps you know someone with children who will be attending Berkley in the foreseeable future. We hope that parents with a vested interested in the school future will seriously consider putting their names forward for election. Nominations close on Friday 4 November.
The current Board would expect that people who stand are passionate about the school and education. Being a member of a Board of Trustees involves decision making around strategic planning, finances, employment of significant personnel and ensuring that the school’s legal obligations are met. Any of the current Board would be happy to discuss with people who are interested what sorts of skills are required. We encourage our School Community to actively support the upcoming elections to ensure that we continue to have a strong, passionate, and skilled Board to continue the important work that is currently underway.
