Communicating with Parents
Our students are entering an exciting but potentially challenging time in their lives and therefore effective communication between home and school is critical. Berkley has the following processes in place to assist with this challenge. Our staff are experienced at noticing and acting on symptoms being shown by students, and we ask that you do the same. Please contact the school office to make an appointment at any time.

These processes work alongside the more formal structure we have for reporting to parents on student progress and achievement.

Open Door Policy
Parents/caregivers are welcome into our school at any time.  To take up this opportunity we ask that you make an appointment through the school office (an escort will be provided).

We encourage you to attend school events. Throughout the year there will be many opportunities for parents to attend our various sporting and cultural activities. School focus (usually block 4 on day 6) is another opportunity to see students in action.

Feel free to make an appointment to see the Principal, Deputy Principal or Assistant Principals at any time.  An informed Senior Management Team is able to personally become involved in supporting you and your child.

Agenda Books
These are a daily form of communication between home and school.  Each day your child will record their homework tasks and attach any school notices (including newsletters) into this book. The agenda book is also a vehicle for you and your child's teacher to communicate with each other. Please ensure you sight this book every day.

Class Placement
Our policy is to match students with their home room teacher according to student needs.  We welcome parent input into this process.

Compliments, Concerns or Complaints
Please direct any compliments or concerns to classroom teachers, in the first instance.  No issue is too small. Please direct complaints to the Principal.
