Reporting to Parents
We have a comprehensive programme for regular reporting to parents.
Meet the Teacher Evening
Term 1 - Week 3. This
evening is held in the first three weeks of the year and run by your
child's team leaders. The focus of this evening is for you to be able
to meet your child's class teacher and the other teachers of the team.
It is an opportunity to share expectations for the year and to get some
insight into their new learning environment.
Phone Arounds
Term 1 - Weeks 6 - 8. You
can expect a phone call from your child's teacher sometime between
weeks 6 and 8. The purpose of this call will be to check with you on
your perception of how your child has settled into their learning
environment. This conversation also gives parents an opportunity to
ask questions or raise any concerns.
Ko Au Books
Ko Au go home 3 times a year - Term 2, 3 and 4. These
extremely important books are a sample of your child's achievements at
Berkley. These books are a sequence of work samples which provide you
with information about your child's learning and the class programme.
Student Led Conferences
Student led conferences are held in Term 2. Conferences
provide an opportunity for the student, teacher and parents to meet to
share and discuss achievements and to set goals for the future. Each
conference is twenty minutes in duration. It is expected that the
focus of these conferences will be around achievements in literacy and
numeracy.
Written Reports
Reports go home twice a year, in Term 2 and 4. These
reports provide the parents and student with a summary of student
growth and achievement in all curriculum areas.
