An Information Evening is being held on Thursday 27 July at 6.00pm. This is an opportunity to get ‘first hand’ information about our school in action. We encourage all prospective students and their parents/caregivers/whanau to visit our school on this evening. To enrol your child at Berkley you must complete an enrolment form and ensure that it is handed to the Berkley school office by the specified date.

Our School Board of Trustees operates an enrolment scheme to prevent overcrowding or the likelihood of overcrowding at our school. Each year the board will determine the number of places which are likely to be available in the following year for the enrolment of students who live outside the home zone. Applications for enrolment will be processed in the following order of priority.

Out of Zone Enrolments

Applications for out of zone enrolment will be processed in the following order of priority:

a. if there are more applicants in the second, third, fourth, or fifth priority groups than there are places available, selection within the priority group will be by a ballot conducted in accordance with instructions issued by the Secretary under Section 11G(1) of the Education Act 1989. Parents/caregivers will be notified in writing by a specified date and will be given a certain time frame in which to confirm their acceptance. Applicants seeking second, third or fourth priority status may be required to give proof of a sibling/parental relationship.

First priority This priority category is not applicable at this school because the school does not run a special programme approved by the Secretary for Education.

Fourth priority Will be given to applicants who are children of former students.
