Childrens Narrative Summary
Posted on: 20 November, 2015
On Wednesday the 18th of November, students from room 22 visited a classroom of new entrant pupils at Silverdale Primary. This visit concluded a 4 week literacy unit, focused on narratives.
At the beginning of this unit students were asked to draft and create a children’s narrative that served a purpose, whether educational (counting / letters) to providing the reader a valuable lesson on sharing, self belief or eating healthy.
Having created their narratives, the class then looked at ways we could share these with the community and the idea of going to a local school was raised and through the help of Mr Clark, the Silverdale Deputy Principal a trip was organised.
It was great to see the students from both schools interacting with each other and enjoying both our narratives and the song and dance performed in return.
