Kia ora Berkley Community
Firstly, I want to say a huge thank you to all of you. It's at times like these that we are reminded of the incredible strength, positivity and resilience of the Berkley community.
As you have seen in my previous post, Berkley Normal Middle School is closed for all students that are not essential workers approved by the government. If you are an essential worker and you need to send your child to school tomorrow, please email email@example.com as soon as possible. Know that they will be welcomed and well looked after tomorrow.
The following is the latest information that I need to share with you:
- From 8am - 8:45am tomorrow, students will be able to collect personal belongings from their classroom. We ask that you adhere to the Ministry of Health guidelines and keep 1.5 metres apart when collecting items.
Our interpretation of Minister Hipkin’s guidance is that schools will continue to provide opportunities for students to carry out some learning online. We will provide more information for online learning tomorrow.
We know you have many questions. We will continue to update you as more details are confirmed. Thank you for your patience and support.
Please keep watch on our school's Facebook page and website for regular updates and information.
The best way to tackle this situation is together, as a community, with students, staff, parents, and caregivers all remaining supportive and responsive to an ever-changing situation.
Look after one another and stay positive.
