Kia ora

My name is Rebecca Lovell and I am the teacher of Room 27 within the Rangahau team. This is my eighth year teaching at Berkley, having worked in a number of different classrooms and teams across the school during my time here. Berkley’s motto of ‘take up the challenge’ strongly aligns with my own personal philosophy and I will always encourage my students to get involved, challenge themselves and try new things.

I grew up on a dairy farm in Taupiri, attending Taupiri Primary and then Waikato Diocesan School for Girls. Teaching has always been something I have been interested in and I have always had a passion for building strong relationships with the students in my class. I love the variety that being an intermediate teacher brings as well as the vast array of individual personalities I get to work with each day.

Sport has always played a huge role in my life. I’m an avid netball fan, love spending time challenging myself at the gym and enjoy entering a number of half marathon running events. I am responsible for the running of netball at Berkley, and enjoy seeing young players develop their skills on Saturday’s down at the courts. I enjoy working with Rangahau students within the Teaming programme to develop their skills across a number of different sporting codes.
