Uniform

Our Board of Trustees by-law requires students wear the regulation uniform in school at all times. Uniform gives students a sense of belonging and allows all children to be equally well dressed. All belongings must be named.

The uniform shop is operated by “Direct Group Ltd” and is available for purchase at their store. This is located at 6 Latham Court, Frankton. The shop is open Monday – Friday 8.00 am – 5.00 pm. You can also purchase online at www.directgroup.co.nz Click on the shop online tab at the top right hand side of the home page. Scroll to the Berkley Middle School logo and click log in. The user name is Berkley and the password is Uniform.

Berkley hats/caps are compulsory for Term 1 and Term 4 in accordance with our sun smart guidelines.

For guidance regarding accommodating religious beliefs and the school uniform, please speak to the enrolments administrator via the school office.

Footwear

The permitted footwear is plain black roman sandals for boys and girls, or black polishable shoes. (no boots, heels or logos).

Pantihose/tights (with feet) flesh coloured, black or navy.

Jewellery

Students may wear:
  1. one pair of plain earrings studs in the ears
  2. one wrist watch
  3. one plain chain or bone carving of spiritual or cultural significance.

Hair

Hair colour is to be natural, not dyed or coloured. Hair accessories – clips, ties, ribbons, headbands to be plain and in school colours (white, black and navy).

Nail polish and make up are not permitted.
