Key Information for Berkley Families
This page brings together key information and useful links for families with students currently attending Berkley Normal Middle School. Here you’ll find everyday school information, communication links, and resources to support your child’s learning and school life.
Supporting Your Child at Berkley
At Berkley Normal Middle School, we believe strong partnerships between school and home are essential for student success. We encourage families to stay connected with school activities, learning programmes, and events throughout the year.
Parents and caregivers are welcome to engage with the school community through communication with teachers, attending events, and supporting their child’s learning journey.
Attendance
Regular attendance helps students build strong routines, positive learning habits and a strong connection with school life. We ask families to let the school know whenever a student is away, including the reason for the absence and how long they are expected to be away.
School Uniform
Our Board of Trustees require students wear the regulation uniform in school at all times. Uniform gives students a sense of belonging and allows all children to be equally well dressed. All belongings must be named.
The uniform shop is operated by “The Brandmakers” (formerly Directgroup) and is available for purchase at their store. This is located at 6 Latham Court, Frankton. The shop is open Monday – Friday 8.00 am – 5.00 pm. You can also purchase online at www.thebrandmakers.co.nz Click on the shop online tab at the top right hand side of the home page. Scroll to the Berkley Middle School logo and click log in. The user name is Berkley and the password is Uniform.
BYOD / Devices
At Berkley we are well resourced with a range of digital devices for students to use in classrooms. We also welcome students bring their own devices to school to use as a tool for learning.
Staying Connected
Berkley communicates with families through several channels to ensure parents stay informed about school life and student progress.
These may include:
- School newsletters
- Email communication
- Parent portal updates
- School events and information evenings
We encourage families to regularly check these channels for important updates and opportunities to be involved in the school community.

Student Wellbeing & Support
The wellbeing of our students is a priority at Berkley. Our staff work closely with students and families to support learning, wellbeing, and positive relationships.
If you have concerns about your child’s wellbeing, learning, or school experience, we encourage you to contact the school so we can work together to provide the right support.
