My name is Fiona McGuire and I oversee the English Language Learners (ELL) department here at Berkley.
I have been in education for many years having trained at Waikato University followed by time spent teaching in Hamilton, Auckland and Tauranga. In more recent years I have been fortunate to teach internationally in Jordan, China and Vietnam. All experiences have led me right back here to, “The Mighty Waikato,” to what must be the best job in education!
It is such a privilege to be able to support our new migrant students to learn and improve their level of English so they are able to comfortably join in classroom learning and build those all important relationships with their teachers and classmates.
We have an experienced team of ELL staff just waiting to help you to “Take Up the Challenge” of becoming confident and competent English language users.
