PE & Sports Coordinator

With a house full of educators—my wife is a teacher, and our son is currently training to join the family business—you could say lesson plans are practically our dinner conversation. Add in my 10 years of experience as a school principal, and I’ve pretty much seen it all (and survived to tell the tale).
When I’m not in school mode, you’ll usually find me on a futsal court. I’m heavily involved in our local futsal scene and helped co-found the 4Z Academy of Futsal, which led to the absolute highlight of overseeing the Waikato Rapids Youth Nationals teams last year. I’ve spent plenty of hours organizing tournaments and wrangling touring teams across the country and overseas—a task that is equal parts logistics and crowd control.
For me, sport isn’t about winning at all costs; it’s about that un-teachable moment when a kid’s face lights up because they’re having a blast. Creating a space where players can just enjoy themselves and chase their own personal wins is what keeps me coming back.
I consider myself extremely lucky and privileged to have the role of PE and Sports Coordinator at Berkley and look forward to the challenge of providing a wide variety of sporting opportunities for the students.
