COVID-19 Community Update

Date: 14 Oct 2021

14 October 2021

Kia ora whānau,

As you know, the Government has made the announcement that our region will remain at Alert Level 3 for a further five days until 11.59pm Monday 18 October.

At Alert Level 3 people are asked to keep their bubbles as small as possible and to work and learn from home if they can.  This means that for the vast majority of Berkley students, school remains closed and distance learning will continue online for the start of term 4.

For the small number of students who are unable to remain home at Alert Level 3, school will not be functioning in the way students and whānau are used to. As it was in term 3, a range of additional health and safety restrictions will apply when school reopens on Monday 18 October for those learners who have parents who need to be physically at their place of work, and there is no other person in their immediate or extended bubble who can supervise them during the day.

If your child will need to be at school next Monday 18 October, please contact your classroom teacher by midday tomorrow (Friday). This will allow us to ensure that we have everything in place to safely supervise onsite learning at Alert Level 3.

We will continue to keep up to date with updates from the Ministry of Education and will have more details to share with you shortly. Thank you for working with us to keep everyone safe.
