Kia ora Berkley whānau,

A quick update following today’s announcement that confirms that distance learning at Berkley will continue into next week. At this time the Government will next review the Alert Level settings for Hamilton and parts of the Waikato on Monday, 1 November. As has been the case previously, once a return to Alert Level 2 has been confirmed we will need to allow a period of time for staff to prepare for the safe return of students. For that reason, distance learning is likely to continue through until at least the end of day next Wednesday, 3 November.

In the meantime distance learning and online challenges continue and I would like to complement all Berkley students who are taking up the challenge and learning at home. I am really enjoying the updates from teachers and seeing the creative ways that Berkley students are making learning happen.

We are aware however that the ongoing restrictions at Alert Level 3 are a challenge for many people and as always we are here to help. If your situation has changed and you need to consider onsite learning or would like to borrow a Berkley device please contact your classroom teacher.

Hang in there whanau. Be kind to one another and look after yourself.

Ngā mihi,

Nathan Leith

Principal
