COVID-19 Update - Wednesday 18 August 2021

Date: 18 Aug 2021

Kia ora Parents, Caregivers and Whanau,

Congratulations to everyone who was part of last night’s performance of Aladdin Jr. at Clarence Street Theatre. It has been fantastic to see so many Berkley students take up the challenge and, given the circumstances, perform in front of an enthusiastic audience.

All students involved in the production have worked extremely hard to put together a performance of such high quality and as I shared with the performers last night, we will work hard with the theatre to explore possibilities for new show dates to give everyone the opportunity to see this incredible production.

With the Prime Minister’s announcement that we will be in COVID Alert Level 4 for the next few days, we are now focused on how we can support students at home. We know that uncertainty around events can be unsettling. It is important that as a school community we continue to show strength and resilience, and face challenges with generosity and understanding.

Today teachers will be sending out emails to their class with some suggestions for how students can contribute to their household and continue their learning at home. Please watch out for these emails and respond so that the classroom teacher knows that they are reaching you.

We will continue to keep up to date with the latest information from the Ministry of Health as it becomes available. We are sure that you will have many questions regarding upcoming events. Please keep your eye on our usual communication channels (Berkley website, Berkley App, Berkley FaceBook page and email) to receive regular updates from us.

Please don’t hesitate to contact your child’s teacher or me, if there is something you need assistance with.

Ngā mihi

Nathan Leith
