Week 5 Community Update

Date: 2 Mar 2022

Kia Ora Berkley Community

BNMS continues to provide a positive learning environment for our students. Thank you to our wider community for supporting our school to maintain a calm and productive working space.

I’d like to express my gratitude to all those families who have been in regular contact with us and our Covid Rep ([email protected]), notifying us about household contacts or positive tests. We wish all of you who are isolating and recuperating all the best in the days ahead. Please continue to email our Covid Rep when you have completed isolation requirements so that we have a clear understanding of when your child will be returning to school.

Although we have some positive Covid cases and a number of household contacts identified, we are still experiencing high attendance rates from students who are able to attend school.

As anticipated we have also experienced some teacher/staffing absence, however our online learning programmes support our students when their teacher is absent, or when it is necessary for your child to remain at home. Should you require online learning or a hardpack please email your child’s classroom teacher.

Aongatete Camp

Three classes from Tainui team have just completed their camp experience and the 4th class has headed there today. So far they have experienced lovely weather, lots of challenges and have had the opportunity to develop a strong class spirit. Classes have been well supported by committed staff and wonderful parents. Students from Kia Kaha team will begin their camp programme from this Sunday.

Nga mihi,

Nathan Leith

Principal
